Hi Guys It's been a while .....I have been out of the loop due to other commitments, but good to come back on board with an Aussie special been on show. I have heard various things about the gearing with the Aus DT1S but Dave and manuals supplied by Devin/this site has cleared that up. Looking through the DT1S parts book all gears are 214 while the DT2 etc with wide ratio gears are made up of 214, 308, 275. Thanks for all the info. Good luck with the project Bruce. Devin - interesting point as I had wondered if these were 26mm bored out already. Curious to think of what else gets affected when bored out - cutaways on the slide etc, or maybe small enough so doesn't matter. Way outside my knowledge so wouldn't know how to answer.

Thanks Dave - closer to home than I thought it might be..... in that it was off a DT1 rival. I have 2 of these as they came from a collector of twin Yamahas. YDS1R YDS2R TD1A TD1B TD1C TD2 TD2B are his interest. The plan is to put on them on something smaller than a 250 - I will add something soon to the performance modifications section, and as not standard, any imput would be appreciated.

Hi Devin, great work on the tributes - I need to check more of them out. This is really unimportant but just a quick note on the Robert Redford bike with the webco head. I think maybe its a 250 with black tinware, has square swingarm and the head looks like the 250 webco head. All the 360 webco heads I have seen have a slight V shape to the edge fins. I have a colour version of that photo somewhere and seem to remember that it left me wondering what was going on. Maybe the black looked better on camera? Who knows?

Thanks Pete and Dave Interesting that in Aus we had both US and Oceania numbers. I have another bike that sits in the US listed numbers - as well as a couple of spare engines. The one above came with an AT2/3MX tank, and the crank is not for the electric start - so had me wondering.

I really like special framed DT1's. This Cheney one is also one of my favourites.

Anything that includes At, Ct, Dt and Rt and you can count me in. I enjoy all of it, but when it comes down to favourites I have a leaning towards the earlier models and the hop-up, go-fast parts from that time. I am sure this will become a great resource for years to come. I can see a great deal of work has gone into it already, so well done Devin and Dave and look forward to the sites growth.
