I always have the service manual within reach, but it didn't touch on the removal or installation. It might've been feasible if I had removed the reed block as well. The fact that you've never had to do it speaks for itself as to how great these old 175s are. They are my favorites. I have one from 70, 71, 75,and 76. And I am ALWAYS in the market to fill in the missing years. I also have a 77 which turned out to be a Frankenstein bike with an MX125 engine. Oh well. Nothing is exempt from my Yamaha Rescue Shelter. 🤓
Is it possible to remove and install a carb on the DT175C without unbolting the airbox and wiggling everything together?
I did buy a new rubber boot between the box and the carb. The original turned into a rock. But even with a new soft boot I still had to unbolt the airbox and cuss a lot.
Good question Schu, but even though I have one of these bikes, I've never had to do that ... so naturally, I can't say.
Have you checked the service manual in the sites digital library?
It may say something about that, but I kinda doubt it.
Might be hard to find someone with experience on that particular question ... those 76 models are kinda rare.

Looks to be in great shape. I have never been to mid ohio. I am kinda scared to go, knowing how much I would see 😄
