Hey guys,
I'm currently restoring a DT360A and looking forward to register it here in Germany any time soon. Therefore the registration agency needs a lot of technical information from a reliable source. Basically everything except for an official horsepower figure seems to be available in owners manuals, old newspaper articles and so on. Does anyone of you guys have some sort of data sheet containt the official power output? A german registration paper (Fahrzeugschein) would be ideal, but I don't think that there's another German DT360 rider on this forum.
Thanks for your help!
I found the Australian Brochure has the same horse power rating that Enduronut mentioned. Interesting, the JDM was slightly de-tuned. Here is a picture from the brochure. It is looking good to have the massive update, to the website, posted later today. This full brochure will also be in the update. Thank you for your patience.
Leon,
I think I have found what you need. The information I found is for the Japan domestic model. I know some countries get different versions of the model. The EPA did not affect the USA models until the late 70s. I would think this would satisfy the requirement to register the bike. See attachments below.
1 PS = 75 kilopond·metre/second ~= 735.5 newton·m/s ~= 735.5 W ~= 0.7355 kW ~= 0.98632 hp (SAE)
I am working on a massive batch of brochures and should have it uploaded in a couple days.
Hello Leon
The only place I have seen Yamaha give the horsepower figure for the DT360 model, is on the full size "Service Data Sheets", but I can not find the sheet for your 1974 model. Searching the internet, I see many places that list the horsepower at 32 HP @ 6,000 rpm's.
Until the official data sheet can be found, your next best chance is to write a letter to Yamaha headquarter's of Germany or the USA, for a confirmation letter which states the requested power numbers you need to complete the registration.
Good Luck, and I will keep searching for the Service Data Sheet.
